PM Modi Inaugurates Vantara: A New Era in Wildlife Conservation

In a heartwarming ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Vantara, one of the world's largest wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation centers, located in Jamnagar, Gujarat ¹. This momentous occasion marked a significant milestone in India's commitment to wildlife protection and conservation.

A Haven for Rescued Animals
Vantara, spearheaded by Anant Ambani under Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), is home to over 150,000 rescued, endangered, and threatened animals from more than 2,000 species. The center is dedicated to providing a safe haven for these animals, with state-of-the-art facilities and expert care.

PM Modi's Interactive Visit
During his visit, PM Modi interacted with various animals, including Asiatic Lion cubs, a rare Clouded Leopard cub, and a White Lion cub. He also witnessed the center's Caracal breeding program and observed an MRI being conducted on an Asiatic Lion. The Prime Minister's enthusiasm and affection for the animals were evident throughout his visit.

- World's largest elephant hospital: Vantara features a state-of-the-art hospital with specialized departments for wildlife anesthesia, cardiology, nephrology, endoscopy, and dentistry.
- *Hydrotherapy pool*: The center has a hydrotherapy pool that helps elephants recover from arthritis and foot problems, enhancing their mobility.
- *Conservation efforts*: Vantara is committed to preserving endangered species, including the elusive Caracal.
